Army Institute of Management(AIM), Kolkata was established by Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) in 1997 to provide management education for wards of Army Personnel and other general candidates as well.

AIM has been recognised by AICTE and is affiliated to West Bengal Institute of Technology (WBUT). AIM is considered to be among the best institutes in India for management education.
Army Institute of Management is managed by Indian Army so has the best facilities and discipline. It has a fully residential eco-friendly campus with good infrastructure. AIM also has an excellent core faculty having industry background and provides full placement assistant to its students.The fees for the complete course is subsidised by AWES therefore is much less compared to other management institutes. Admission to AIM is based on CAT percentile and Personal Interview+Group Discussion.

Eligibility criteria:
To apply for AIM a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with atleast 50% marks. Those in the final year of their graduation can also apply.

Selection procedure:
Candidates are shortlisted for admission to AIM on the basis of their CAT scores therefore all the candidates seeking admission must appear for CAT. The shortlisted candidates are then called for General Discussion and Personal Interviews at later stage.There are 120 students in each batch.
Additional weightage is given to wards of gallantry award winners and war widows.
